As you consider deep soul wounds, the issue of your own sinful actions (both past and present) must be confronted. Hard-heartedness, guilt, and shame are often the festering wounds resulting from sinful actions. When you surrender your life to Jesus, you commit to a life of fellowship with the Holy Spirit in alignment with the will of God. Yet often, like a vehicle that stubbornly pulls to one side, our lives feel “out-of-alignment.” Repentance is the prescription for "soul realignment." In Christ Jesus, our sins are forgiven. So why do so many Christians continue to struggle with hard-heartedness and feelings of guilt and shame? The soul-healing prescription of repentance is needed when the light of Christ shines into the dark places of our wounded soul.
